Care homes are a key market for MTS. Around 250,000 people live in 20,000 plus care homes for older people and residential homes for younger adults in the UK. Better healthcare and advances in treatment mean that people are now living longer. Did you know there are now 9,800 people in England and Wales who are 100 years old? Some people in care are extremely old, others very young. Some have severe physical or learning disabilities or other serious long-term illnesses and, as pharmacists, we understand that the patient receiving the right drug at the right time is crucial to their quality of life and ongoing healthcare.
The systems that MTS provides have been shown to improve the compliance of patients taking multiple drugs. In some cases this was an increase of 50 per cent (i.e. from 60 per cent to 90 per cent) showing a marked improvement.
We work closely with your local community pharmacist to ensure that this is achieved and that the compliance blister card system they use meets their needs and safety and easy of use in your care home.
